Palau’s cautious return to tourism this year is being closely watched by its neighbours as it has had to respond to fluctuating case numbers in its tourism source markets.

Palau slowly reopened its borders on May 30 for fully vaccinated travellers.

With two flights a week from Taiwan and a regular weekly flight from Guam, President Surangel Whipps Jr said the country is shifting from COVID-free to COVID-safe.
