VANUATU United FC came off a great victory against Solomon Kings FC to take on PNG Hekari FC.
The match came alive at 28 minutes with a surging attack from Vanuatu on the right wing.
PNG goalkeeper Dave Tomare smacked the ball away in a brilliant save. But the ball went straight to Bill Kaltak’s direction, who fired a rocket from the edge of the box to score.
A minute later, Hekari went on the attack with swift, precise long passes. Joseph Joe scored a fantastic goal from out wide.
Returning from the break, PNG Hekari were still hot in attack. A good long ball from Joe gave Rex Naime the perfect chance to take his team into the lead. Vanuatu goalkeeper Kalo Firiam did his best but could not stop the ball.
Hekari looked to be in total control with crisp passes and great support, as they surged in wave after wave on the opposition goal.
In the final minutes, Hekari secured a turnover in the middle of the park before they hurried the ball up the field. Hekari captain and 39-year-old Raymond Gunemba finished it off with a great goal.
Hekari now led 3–1, as Vanuatu looked completely shocked and disarrayed. The match ended 3–1 to Hekari.
