PUBLIC funeral is planned for Fijian music sensation, Fiji—George Fiji Veikoso—on August 12.
Known throughout the Pacific for his mastery across several genre, Fiji died after a long struggle with illness and just months before a concert in his homeland.
Immediately after his death, efforts were made to secure a State funeral for the music icon but the Fiji government said protocol did not allow for such an event.
Instead, family and friends have hired the Vodafone Arena at Laucala Bay, and doors will open for the public at 7.30am to attend a funeral service at 9am.
Fiji lived most of his adult life in Hawaii and returned home for a massive concert late in 2024.
