The Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) held its third summit in May in Port Moresby, after a postponement. Papua New Guinea’s Post Courier highlighted the meeting by reporting that the Secretary-General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), Henry Puna, had written to summit co-host and PNG Prime Minister, James Marape on behalf of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) over the exclusion of PIFS and other PIF members from the meeting. Only 14 Pacific Islands Countries (PICs) were invited to FIPIC.
