FIJI Water Foundation Directs FJ$4.9M To Support Local Initiatives in Fiji
NADI, March 18, 2026 – The FIJI Water Foundation (FWF), one of the largest philanthropic
organisations in Fiji, is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 community grants, awarding
a total of FJ$4.9M in funding to 22 organisations driving community impact across the country.
Established in 2007 and supported by The Wonderful Company’s co-owners Lynda and Stewart
Resnick, through their foundation, the FIJI Water Foundation, invests in and collaborates with the
communities where their employees live and work, with a strong focus in the provinces of Ra, Ba
and Rewa. Since its inception, the FIJI Water Foundation has contributed over FJ$47 million to
projects that support education, health and wellness, clean water access, and community
development.
“At the FIJI Water Foundation, we partner with organisations working directly with local
communities to help build a thriving Fiji together,” said Semi Lotawa, Director of the FIJI Water
Foundation. “This year’s recipients are working to tackle some of the country’s most pressing
challenges, and we look forward to seeing the incredible impact of their initiatives.”
Among this year’s recipients is Cure Kids Fiji, which will advance its work to combat Rheumatic
Heart Disease (RHD) by funding vital research and life-saving medical care for children with serious
health conditions. Dr. Jima Kailawadoko, Country Research Manager from Cure Kids Fiji said,
“Thanks to The FIJI Water Foundation’s support and as part of our shared commitment, we’re
expanding the reach of RHD prevention and care to improve children’s health across Fiji through
collective action and community trust.”
2025 Community Grant recipients include:
- Rotary Pacific Water for Life, which will expand its water, sanitation, and hygiene
programs, bringing clean drinking water to more communities. - Leadership Fiji, which will invest in developing the next generation of Fijian leaders,
providing training to strengthen their skills and contribute meaningfully to the community. - Beacon Media, whose teacher aid program will provide essential teaching resources and
classroom support to selected schools in the provinces of Ra, Ba and Rewa, strengthening
education delivery.
