After 12 years in exile, the late Professor Brij Vilash Lal is returning home to Tabia in the Fijian province of Macuata on Saturday, February 25.
Funeral rituals will be held at Tabia Sanatan College from 12.30-2pm Fiji time.
Friends and the general public are invited to the formal event organised with the assistance of Deputy PM Professor Biman Prasad, the Leader of the National Federation Party, and his staff.
The family of the late historian said they are extremely grateful to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka for enabling the arrangement, after being denied to do so by the previous Bainimarama Government even after his passing on December 25, 2021 in Brisbane, Australia.
