The youths crossed a bridge from the Fijian Quarter but were held back by police and hired security guards.

Trucks of armed riot police have been deployed at China Town and Kukum, the main commercial centres.
Some shops and vehicles have been damaged by stone-throwibg youths.
At least one policeman has been injured. It is unclear whether the protests are politically motivated or linked more to social pronlems like poverty and unemployment.
