THE Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) has officially granted an Insurance Broker license to Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) Pte Limited, following the company’s successful fulfillment of all regulatory requirements under section 43 of the Insurance Act 1998.
Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) Pte Limited, a subsidiary of Howden Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd and part of the global Howden Group Holdings Ltd, is slated to commence formal operations in January 2026.
The new entrant is expected to enhance the insurance intermediary landscape in Fiji by providing specialized expertise and tailored risk management solutions to clients nationwide.
According to the RBF, the arrival of Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) will bolster the quality and range of insurance advisory and placement services available in the local market.
The central bank expressed its support for the company’s establishment and anticipates a constructive working relationship with its management as operations begin.
The addition of Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) brings the total number of licensed insurance brokers in Fiji to six, signalling a positive step toward the growth and diversification of the domestic financial services sector.
