TONGA has a new Internal Affairs Minister- Penisemani ‘Epenisa Fifita.

The Tongatapu Nine representative replaces Fe’ao Vakata who was sacked three weeks ago.

Fifita served as chairman of the Whole House Working Committee and his appointment was approved by King Tupou VI.

This means Prime Minister ‘Akilisi Pohiva has lost the opportunity to appoint the lone female member of the house, Akosita Lavulavu, to his Cabinet.
