Dengue claims 2 in Nauru

Dengue outbreak in Nauru.

NAURU has recorded two dengue fatalities.

The Health Department reported 222 dengue cases after tests were conducted on 665 adults and children.

Dr David Bill said an adult and a child had died, and those most affected in the community were members below 10 years of age.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Health has started a massive clean-up campaign with particular focus on Denig, Aiwo and Menen.

In a national statement, President David Adeang underscored the seriousness of the illness and urged the public to be vigilant in destroying mosquito breeding grounds.
