Indigenous knowledge overlooked in climate resilience talks

“Indigenous people have been practicing sustainability and resilience for thousands of years, but this knowledge is often overlooked.”

These were the words of Simione Sevudrere, a prominent advocate for indigenous resilience, during a plenary discussion at this year’s Global Development Conference, which brought together experts, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners worldwide.

Sevudredre emphasised the need to recognise and integrate Indigenous knowledge, memory, and values into these discussions.
