Samoa’s former PM, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has been found guilty of contempt of court in relation to last year’s contentious election. But in a judgement that reflects the extraordinary way Samoans have moved on from the saga, no penalty has been imposed on Tuilaepa or two others associated with his Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP). They were also found guilty of ignoring the rulings of the court over the legal winner of the elections, and of accusing the courts of colluding with the victorious FAST party of Fiame Naomi Mata’afa . . .
