Niuean Jerrard Hekau is bringing life on ‘the Rock’ to the world through his growing YouTube channel, ‘Life on the Rock – Niue Island’.
Through clips and videos he narrates, Hekau gives insights into farming, fishing and family life on Niue. He has 7.5k followers, and while this is modest by global standards, Niue's population is around 1600, so less than a quarter of that.
