NADI, 31 March, 2026 – The FIJI Water Foundation (FWF) has officially launched its highly anticipated 2026 Classroom Grants programme, with a FJ$1.2M commitment to strengtheningeducation initiatives and expanding opportunity for students across Fiji.
The annual programme provides up to FJ$5,000 in funding to certified educators for projects that
enhance literacy, numeracy, mental well-being, and teaching innovation in schools across Fiji. From classrooms in the capital city of Suva to some of the country’s most remote outer islands, teachers are invited to apply for funding that enriches learning environments and expands academic opportunities for their students. In 2025, 266 educators received grant funding totalling FJ$1.2 million towards educational programmes and initiatives serving over 38,000 students across Fiji.
“For thousands of children across Fiji, opportunity begins in the classroom, and the FIJI Water Foundation’s Classroom Grants programme has helped turn teachers’ ideas into life-changing educational experiences,” said Marie Smith, FIJI Water Foundation Manager. “By supporting schools with resources, FWF is working to ensure that every student has access to quality education, preparing them for a brighter future.”
Since the inception of the Classroom Grants programme in 2018, FWF has invested over FJ$4M in education, supporting initiatives that improve educational outcomes and provide essential resources to educators. The grants support a range of initiatives, including new learning tools, resources for teachers, and the introduction of technology to enhance classroom experiences. Beyond education, FWF is committed to partnering with local organisations and leading community development initiatives to help build a resilient and thriving Fiji. To date, FWF has invested more than FJ$47 million in key areas including access to clean water, education, health and wellness, community development, emergency relief, and environmental sustainability.
