THERE were goals galore in the all-Melanesian battle between Southern Legions FC and Gulf Komara FC on Day Four of the OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League in Suva.
The clash between the skillful and the winless began with the Southern Legions initiating the attack but Gulf Komara—who have yet to register a win—met the challenge head on.
Gulf Komara goalkeeper Laventine Monou did brilliantly in the early stages of the game and Southern Legions found it hard to score.
But then Captain Kemly Lehi opened the tally for Southern Legions. His brother Alex Wilkins gifted him with a nice soft pass and Lehi did not hesitate.
Minutes after, Jayson Timatua rocketed in their second goal from a free kick in front of the box.
Alista Karlip and Ashley Joseph (2) joined the scoring sheet with spectacular goals while Lehi doubled his tally.
The first half shooting spree ended with Southern Legions ahead 6–0.
Returning from the half time break, Jayson Bule added another for the Legions but Gulf Komara persevered with Morris Frida and Ronald Regy scoring a goal each to make it 7–2.
In the last 10 minutes, the Southern Legions scored six more goals to win 13–2 at the final whistle.
