FIJI Airports has partnered with GC Tech, an Australian digital transformation consultancy company, to deliver a major corporate digital transformation programme to modernise and enhance its business systems.

The programme aims to transform systems and processes in key business areas such as finance, human resources, asset management, project management, and safety management.

“This move represents an important step in supporting the organisation’s long-term growth, ensuring the company remains resilient, efficient, and future-ready in a rapidly evolving aviation environment,” said Mesake Nawari, Fiji Airports Chief Executive Officer.

“This is also done in line with our 10-year strategic plan; the digitalisation and transition of our systems, which is expected to bring significant financial and efficiency benefits to service delivery at Fiji Airports.

“Success for us means having a fully integrated set of business systems that support finance, procurement, contracts, and HR, operations and project management so we can access reliable information when we need it, wherever we are, and make better, evidence-based decisions on real-time data.

“We also want to use technology, including AI, to go deeper into the data we have so our executive team can address challenges faster and make informed decisions.”

The digital transformation programme aims to modernise Fiji Airports into a digital workplace with secure, single-source information systems that support decision-making.

It enhances data analytics and provides a high-performance platform for improved business performance.

“Just as importantly, we need to move away from paper-based processes and manual data entry where systems can do that work more effectively,” Nawari said.

“This is not only about efficiency. It is about enabling our people to focus on problem-solving and work that genuinely adds value.

“To achieve this, we recognise the need for training and capability uplift across the business, supporting different generations of employees through transformation, and ensuring we adopt best-practice ways of working.”

The programme will support organisational readiness by addressing practical impacts of transformation, including moving away from paper-based processes and adopting new digital tools.

“This programme will strengthen traceability, auditability and risk management through better integration, clearer reporting and proactive alerts, ensuring Fiji Airports is well positioned for sustainable growth,” he said.

Collaboration

Fiji Airports and CG TECH have initiated the programme with an initial phase centred on discovery, stakeholder engagement, current-state assessment, and requirements definition.

This phase sets the future direction and practical roadmap for procurement and implementation, reviews enterprise systems and processes, and focuses on information exchange between corporate systems and broader functions.

This will help ensure future platforms are designed to collaborate effectively, with the correct data accessible to the right people at the right time.

CG TECH will also work closely with Fiji Airports to establish clear governance and decision-making arrangements for the programme, including stage gates to support structured delivery and effective risk management.

“The programme is designed to provide clarity and confidence through complex change,” said Carlos Garcia, Chief Executive Officer at CG TECH.

“Our role is to help leadership teams make well-informed decisions, reduce risk, and move forward with confidence as technology and ways of working evolve.

We value partnerships like this where there is a clear focus on communication, capability, and supporting people through transformation.”

“Large-scale transformation requires clear governance, strong decision-making, and a practical delivery model,” Garcia said.

“We are pleased to be working with Fiji Airports’ leadership team to establish a foundation that supports both immediate priorities as well as their long-term capability and vision.”
