MOVING towards sustainable development and economic transformation, the Fiji Government, in collaboration with the Project Developers, has unveiled the Koro Development Project.
Aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, this initiative aims to reduce poverty or eradicate it altogether, generate employment, foster skills development, encourage innovation, deliver essential infrastructure, promote environmental sustainability, and address climate change.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka said: “Koro will stand not just as a precinct, but as a powerful expression of who we are and what we believe in.
“It is a beacon of transformation, a symbol of sustainability, and a proud marker of our national competitiveness on the global stage.”
The Koro Development Project is aligned with Fiji’s national agenda to create economic opportunity and position Fiji as a commercial powerhouse in the Pacific.
Rabuka added that this plan is built upon our inherent strength, our potential to break boundaries, and reach new growth frontiers.
The project exemplifies the investment that promises 15,000 jobs, broadening Fiji’s economic base and leading innovation.
“Fiji is ready; Fiji is open for investment, innovation, and inclusive prosperity,’’ he said.
“Koro is not just a private development; it is a national milestone and a tangible embodiment of our commitment to sustainable infrastructure.’’
