A CHURCH service is being held on Bau this hour to pray for Ratu Epenisa Cakobau who was seized by armed soldiers and police early today.
Ratu Epenisa was to have been installed Vunivalu and head of the Kubuna Confederacy today.
But a ruling by Native Lands Commissioner Ratu Vananalagi Vesikula last night stopped the installation.
Police Commissioner, Brigadier Sitiveni Qiliho, said police detained Ratu Epenisa and other key figures because they refused to accept the NLC ruling.
Ratu Epenisa’s wife, Adi Frances, and their children attended the service.
Meanwhile security is tight with police checkpoints at Nadave and Bau Landing.
Police Maritime units have been deployed in waters around the island.
