PEGGY Ravusiro has been crowned Miss Fiji 2025.
Closing the three-day national pageant that celebrated leadership, service, and unity among young women across the country.
Ravusiro, who has recently graduated from medical school and is now a qualified doctor, also took out the Best Research Topic Presentation award, reinforcing the pageant’s emphasis on intellect and advocacy alongside beauty.
She emerged victorious among a strong field of contestants, with Miss Nasinu Ailava Samuels named First Runner-Up, Miss Suva Rhyelle Aisea as Second Runner-Up, Miss Rakiraki Shrdha Mala as Third Runner-Up, and Miss Nausori Bernadeta Waqavanua finishing as Fourth Runner-Up.
In her first message as Miss Fiji, Ravusiro said the significance of her new role was still settling in.
“I know in the days to come, I will understand what this duty means to me, how I will be able to offer myself as a sacrifice for the people. To listen, to not be a thing that is just in the oppression of society. I need to go out and inform my advocacy,” she said.
Reflecting on her personal journey, Ravusiro shared a deeply emotional account of resilience, forgiveness, and faith.
From being a first runner-up in a previous pageant and experiencing emotional distress, she described a period of disorientation before finding renewed purpose.
“Only God makes that kind of story,” she said. “Healing will always start with forgiveness. That has definitely been my journey.”
Special awards on the night highlighted talent and creativity, with Miss Suva winning Miss Internet and Best Sarong, Miss Nasinu taking Miss Photogenic and Best Traditional Attire, Miss Nadi earning Miss Personality, and Miss Rakiraki winning Best Talent.
Minister for Local Government Maciu Nalumisa commended all contestants for their influence on young people nationwide.
“Regardless of tonight’s outcome, you have already inspired many young people. To the new Miss Fiji, live with humility, speak with purpose and serve with heart,” he said.
Reigning Miss Pacific Islands Litara Ieremia-Allan praised the contestants for demonstrating unity beyond municipal boundaries, calling it a lesson for the wider Pacific.
“They did not let their differences separate them but unite them,” she said.
Fiji will host the Miss Pacific Pageant in February next year, where Ravusiro will represent the nation on a regional stage.
