FIJI’S national carrier is elevating its inflight experience by highlighting the work of local artisans in its latest “Meet the Makers” campaign.
The new feature spotlights Sigavou Studios, a family-run art studio led by Maria Rova, whose distinctive designs now adorn Fiji Airways’ onboard paper cups.
Sigavou Studios, known for its vibrant motifs and contemporary interpretations of traditional Fijian art, draws inspiration from Fiji’s culture and natural beauty.
Maria Rova and her team honor the age-old practice of masi (barkcloth) making, while infusing their creations with modern colors and evolving styles.
Describing the partnership as a dream come true, Maria said, “To see our work flying across the world is beyond what we ever imagined. Each cup is a symbol of our love for Fiji and our passion for sharing its beauty.”
Fiji Airways Chief Customer Officer, Akuila Batiweti, emphasized the airline’s commitment to showcasing local talent, stating, “Every detail onboard carries a story. Collaborating with Sigavou Studios brings our guests a genuine sense of place and connection.”
Through “Meet the Makers,” Fiji Airways continues to celebrate the creativity and care of the people shaping its authentically Fijian inflight experience.
