FIJI’S tax revenue reached $FJD3.226 billion in the first 11 months of the financial year, exceeding government forecasts by $FJD156.9 million as the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) tracks towards its annual target of $FJD3.37 billion.

With one month remaining in the financial year ending July 31, FRCS has already achieved 95.7 per cent of its annual target, putting the government in a strong position to meet or modestly exceed its revenue goals.

June alone delivered $FJD430.1 million in net revenue, surpassing the monthly forecast by $FJD75.8 million—a 21.4 per cent jump—and outperforming June 2025 collections by $FJD49.6 million.

The results demonstrate resilience despite a cautious economic outlook shaped by global uncertainty, higher fuel prices, and geopolitical developments, Chief Executive Officer Udit Singh said

“The Reserve Bank has recently highlighted a more cautious outlook for economic growth due to global uncertainty,” Singh said.

“Against that backdrop, these results are encouraging and reflect the resilience of Fiji’s taxpayers, businesses and the broader economy.”

Company Income Tax, PAYE, and Value Added Tax were the strongest contributors to revenue growth, supported by positive performances in Excise Duty, Capital Gains Tax, and Departure Tax.

The performance reflects more than inflation, pointing to genuine economic activity, resilient businesses, sustained employment, and stronger tax compliance. FRCS has strengthened intelligence-led compliance, debt recovery, audit programmes, and digital risk management.

Refunds representing eight per cent of gross revenue were processed efficiently to support business cash flow.

Looking ahead, FRCS will monitor how businesses and households respond to ongoing fuel supply challenges and global headwinds.

“Every dollar collected supports essential public services, national infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic development,” Singh said, thanking compliant taxpayers for their contribution to building a stronger Fiji.
