Most of the counting for the Papua New Guinea National Census 2024 has been completed, according to Administrative Services Minister Richard Masere.
“We have completed well over 333 local level governments (LLGs), with 32 currently synchronized,” he said.
The National newspaper reports that he was replying to a question from Karimui-Nomane MP Francis Alua regarding the status of National Census 2024 in Parliament . On Tuesday, Masere said: “From that current synchronisation taking place, the Southern region only has three more LLGs to complete their sync.
“Highlands has about 12 LLGs to complete their sync while Momase has about 15 LLGs. The Highlands has already completed their sync.”
He said within six months, they had progressed relatively slow but were confident of overcoming the challenges that they encountered.
“We are concluding within the six-month period that we estimated to complete, when compared to the last one which took about five years,” Masere said.
