FIJIAN medical company PSH Hospitals has started groundwork on the establishment of a private hospital in Savai’i, Samoa.
The proposed facility is intended to improve access to healthcare for people on Samoa’s largest island and reduce the need for patients to travel abroad for certain services.
PSH has treated patients from Samoa, Tonga and several other Pacific Island countries at its facilities in Suva and Nadi, Fiji. This includes patients who would otherwise have had to travel considerably farther overseas for specialist medical care.
For many Pacific families, having advanced healthcare available in Fiji means patients can receive treatment closer to their homes, cultures and loved ones.
PSH Founder and CEO, Parvish Kumar, said Fiji’s medical sector had made a growing contribution to the region, ensuring that cooperation, compassion and shared responsibility remained central to improving the lives of island communities.
Kumar was recently bestowed the title Tagaloafaaofonuu in recognition of his services to Samoa’s health sector.
