FIJI’S political landscape has expanded with the registration of the NeXTGEN ALLIANCE PARTY (NGAP), bringing the total number of registered political parties in the country to nine.
The Registrar of Political Parties, Ana Mataiciwa, confirmed that NGAP had met all legal requirements for registration under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.
According to the Registrar, the party successfully completed the application process, and no objections were received during the registration period.
“The NeXTGEN ALLIANCE PARTY has met all legal requirements for registration under the Act,” Mataiciwa said.
Following its registration, NGAP will be required to comply with all statutory obligations applicable to registered political parties, including the submission of declarations and disclosures within prescribed timeframes.
The registration of NGAP comes as Fiji prepares for its next General Election, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirming that the election will be held between 24 December this year and the first week of February 2027.
