FIJI AIRWAYS will expand its Australian network with the launch of direct flights between the Gold Coast and Nadi.

The new service will begin on June 11.

Flights will operate three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

This connection offers the Gold Coast community a faster, more convenient route to Fiji and gives Fijians direct access to the Gold Coast.

The service will operate for just over three hours and add 53,000 seats to the market annually.

Managing Director and CEO Paul Scurrah said the new route highlights the airline’s commitment to serving the Australian market.

“The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways,” said Scurrah, citing the region’s growth in tourism, business and infrastructure.

“This new direct service strengthens ties between Fiji and Australia, unlocking significant opportunities for both outbound and inbound travel.”

Queensland Airports Limited CEO Amelia Evans said Gold Coast Airport was thrilled to strengthen the bond between Fiji and the Gold Coast.

“Australians love holidaying in Fiji, and this new route makes getaways even easier,” Evans said.

“We look forward to welcoming more Fijians to visit friends and family in Australia with direct flights to the Gold Coast.”

Gold Coast becomes Fiji Airways’ seventh Australian destination and the fourth where direct flights replace previous one-stop journeys.
