Suva, Fiji – 14 October 2023. South Pacific Business Development (SPBD) paid a courtesy visit to Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection Permanent Secretary Ms. Eseta Nadakuitavuki. The SPBD executives, led by the organization’s Founder Mr. Greg Casagrande, briefed the Permanent Secretary on the progress of work carried out by the organization in their 12 years of operations in Fiji, with specific focus on improving access to financial services, provision of financial literacy and small business training opportunities, and promotion of a savings culture for women in Fiji.
Permanent Secretary Ms. Nadakuitavuki commended the organization’s achievements whereby they now boast a 7,000 strong membership in the 470 SPBD Centers established throughout their 9 branches located around Fiji. PS Nadakuitavuki discussed common areas of interest for further collaboration, especially in the area of a Welfare Graduation programme for women who are assisted through the Ministry’s social protection schemes, to ensure they are successfully promoted from welfare to workfare.
