Plane incident in Fiji’s north

By Netani Rika

A NORTHERN Air flight overshot the runway this morning.

No casualties were reported.

The Bandeirante EMB110 landed in heavy rain and strong winds and could not stop in time.

“The pilot braked very hard and the engines were screaming in reverse,” a resident said.

“The plane overran the apron and came to rest on the grass.”

“Pilot skill saved the day.”

The aircraft has been cordoned off to allow investigations into the incident.
