As Pacific countries grapple with the increasing visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, Vanuatu has proposed a two-gender law.
But Vanuatu’s Attorney General (AG), Arnold Kiel Loughman, has caused some concern with his pronouncement. Reactions from the LGBTQI+ community have centered around the issue of sexual minorities being sidelined.
Loughman, however, says the legislation should not be a cause for concern.
