Three doctors and one dentist have reportedly left American Samoa’s Department of Health and more may be leaving soon, as benefits under their contracts have not been honoured due to lack of funding. KHJ News noted the medical professionals’ housing allowances have not been paid for months. Director of Health, Motusa Tuileama Nua, confirmed the late payment is due to a cash flow problem beyond DOH’s control.
