The United States embassy in Suva is recruiting companies to join a Fijian business delegation to the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit in June in the Washington, D.C. area.

The Investment Summit promotes the United States as the world’s premier investment destination and connects qualified foreign firms with U.S. economic development organisations to facilitate business investment and job creation.

“The United States is the largest consumer market in the world and the obvious choice for any Fijian company looking to grow globally,” said U.S. Chargé d’affaires Tony Greubel. “In four days at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, companies can make the connections and gather the information needed to start the process of growing in the United States.”

This is the first time the U.S. Embassy is recruiting delegates for the annual event. The Fijian delegates will join the Australian delegation which had more than 20 participants at the Summit last year.  Delegates will have the chance to network with economic developers and hear from U.S. senior government officials, C-Suite business executives, and other thought leaders.

The United States is currently home to more foreign direct investment than any other country in the world, with a total stock of more than $4.62 trillion at the end of 2020. Since inception, the SelectUSA Investment Summits have attracted thousands of international investors and economic development representatives, bringing more than $59 billion in new investment projects to the United States, supporting over 49,000 jobs across the United States and its territories.
