AS the count process approaches the half way line, Fiji First has polled more than half of all votes tallied so far.
Out of the 559,038 registered to vote on Election Day, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem confirmed that 253,664 votes have been tallied this hour.
Fiji First Party leader Frank Bainimarama has polled 38.7% while his nearest rival SODELPA party leader Sitiveni Rabuka polled 17.81% and Aiyaz Khaiyum has polled 4%.
Meanwhile the Fiji First Party polled 52.5% of all votes compared to SODELPA’s 37.16% while the National Federation Party trails at 7.54%.
According to Mr Saneem the votes tallied were from the following divisions;
Central Division 295 out of 606
Eastern Division 192 out of 485
Western Division 211 out of 659
North Division 338 out of 404
At 11.33pm when 1195 polling stations were counted, the NFP met the threshhold at 7.45%, already performing better than they did in 2014.
In 2014, Fiji First polled 59.17% to grab 33 seats, SODELPA’s 15 seats was from 28.18% of tallied votes and the NFP’s 3 seats were from 5.45% of all votes.
