FIJI Airways has reinstated direct flights between Nadi, Fiji and Nouméa, New Caledonia with twice weekly direct flights.

The Tuesday and Friday service will add more than 10,000 seats annually between the countries.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Scurrah, described the return of the service as an important milestone for the airline and the region.

“Nadi to Nouméa opens up an exciting new way for our two countries to connect, reinforcing Fiji’s place as the Pacific’s connecting hub,’’ Scurrah said.

Nouméa and Suva are also home to some of the Pacific’s key intergovernmental and development organisations, creating an important corridor for professionals, delegates, consultants and partners travelling across the region.

The service began today with a Fiji Link ATR 72-600 aircraft.
