SPBD Fiji has officially launched its 2025 Businesswoman of the Year Awards.
The Awards will be held under the theme, “Empowering Women, Strengthening Teams, Shaping Sustainable Futures.”
Launching the Awards, SPBD Fiji Managing Director Lorraine Seeto said the event celebrated more than business success.
“They celebrate courage over fear, determination over adversity, and hope over limitation. They recognise ordinary women who have achieved extraordinary things through hard work, perseverance and a belief that a better future is possible,” she said.
Seeto said the theme aligned with SPBD’s vision of improving the quality of life of families by providing financial services to underserved women, while reflecting the organisation’s continued focus on empowering women and creating lasting social and economic impact.
She highlighted another major milestone for the organisation this year, with more than $FJD150 million in loans disbursed to members over the past two decades, supporting businesses, education, housing and family livelihoods.
“Every loan tells a story. Every repayment reflects responsibility and trust. Every successful businesswoman becomes an inspiration to another woman waiting to begin her own journey. That is the true legacy of SPBD,” Seeto said.
She also stressed that the success of SPBD members was made possible through the support of centre leaders, staff, families and communities working together.
Congratulating all Grade A Centres that qualified for this year’s awards, Seeto said they had demonstrated excellence, discipline, teamwork and resilience throughout the year.
The judging process is now underway, with winners to be announced at the SPBD Businesswoman of the Year Awards Night on October 30.
