LEAGUE leaders Auckland FC had a simple run against PNG Hekari FC at the OFC League in Ba, Fiji.
PNG Hekari have not had a good outing this year. Their only win in this tournament was against Vanuatu.
Oscar Faulds scored a fantastic header before half-time. Liam Gillion then extended their lead in the second half with a long-range strike.
Auckland basically coasted through this match to win 2–0 against the PNG Hekari.
They continue to reign supreme at the top as the tournament winds down to its final matches of the pool stages.
In the battle for second place, South Melbourne FC (19) took on the hosts for round five, Bula FC (18). A single point separated the teams on the ladder coming into this match.
Bula FC chased down the men from Melbourne from the start but the visitors were not easily intimidated. They scored two goals in the first half and held out strongly to finish the game with the same margin.
With the 2–0 win, South Melbourne is now in second place with Bula FC sitting on overall third.
