POLICE in Fiji have confirmed the death in custody of a man believed to have been involved in an attempt to steal weapons from the military.
Police confirmed to Mai TV that they received reports of a death in custody of a suspect.
It is understood the dead man was involved in the drug trade and had been questioned over his links to an attempted theft of weapons from a military installation.
Police and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces have conducted raids in recent days on the homes of people suspected of involvement in the attempted weapons seizure.
Police have not disclosed details of the facility where the death occurred.
