9 April 2026 – Nadi, Fiji: Fiji Airways is marking a major milestone as it celebrates 10 years of connecting Fiji to Singapore, a route that has strengthened travel, tourism, and trade links between the South Pacific and one of Asia’s leading aviation hubs.

The Singapore route has played a key role in expanding Fiji Airways’ presence in Asia while providing travellers with seamless connectivity to Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond through Singapore. Over the past decade, the route has supported tourism growth, strengthened economic ties, and provided passengers with greater travel choice through the world-class facilities and connectivity offered at Singapore’s Changi Airport.

Since its inception in 2016, Fiji Airways has carried more than 318,000 passengers between Fiji and Singapore, operating over 1,700 commercial flights across 886 trips on the route.

The service currently operates twice weekly between Nadi and Singapore, providing travellers with convenient access to Asia and onward global connections through Singapore Changi Airport.

Around one third of passengers travelling on the route connect beyond Singapore to other destinations, highlighting the importance of the hub for travellers connecting between Fiji, Asia, Europe and other global markets.

Demand for the route has continued to grow over time, with passenger numbers recording an average compound annual growth rate of approximately 10 percent over the past decade.

Passenger demand on the route reflects both strong point-to-point travel and global connectivity, with around 67 percent of passengers travelling directly between Fiji and Singapore, while 33 percent connect onward through Singapore to destinations across Asia, Europe, and other international markets.

Singapore also serves as a key gateway for travel between Fiji and India, with thousands of passengers each year connecting through the hub.

Paul Scurrah, Managing Director and CEO of Fiji Airways, said the anniversary reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening Fiji’s global connectivity.

“Over the past decade, our Singapore service has become a vital bridge between Fiji and Asia and beyond. It has opened doors for tourism, trade, and global travel while connecting Fiji to one of the world’s most important aviation hubs. We are proud of how this route has grown and the role it continues to play in supporting Fiji’s economy and global reach.”

Singapore’s world-renowned aviation hub, Singapore Changi Airport, has consistently been recognised as one of the world’s best airports and serves as a major gateway for travellers connecting between Asia, Europe, and the Pacific.

Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Air Hub & Cargo Development, Changi Airport Group, said “We are delighted to celebrate with Fiji Airways the 10th anniversary of its Singapore–Nadi route, which has brought the South Pacific closer to Asia. This flight service has provided Fiji Airways’ passengers with convenient access to Changi Airport’s global network. We look forward to deepening our partnership with Fiji Airways to further grow the route and better serve passengers travelling between Singapore and Nadi, as well as those connecting onwards via Singapore to destinations across Asia, Europe and beyond.”

The Singapore route remains a strategic part of Fiji Airways’ international network, supporting tourism flows, business travel, and cargo movement while strengthening Fiji’s links with Asia and global markets.

As Fiji Airways celebrates this 10-year milestone, the airline remains focused on continuing to grow the route and providing travellers with warm Fijian hospitality and seamless connections through Singapore.
