HOSTS Suva FC avoided a last place finish in the OFC Futsal Men’s Champions League with a win against Gulf Komara FC.

Gulf Komara attacked early, with Ezekiel Vela knocking in the first goal of the match followed by another three minutes from the break.

Deepal Singh drilled one in for Suva and the teams went to the break with Gulf Komara ahead 2–1.

In the second half, Nikil Chand fired in a strong low shot to level the score 2–2.

Gulf Komara kept up a dogged attack as they chased their first win. Suva felt the heat of the attacks and responded desperately to the point that Deepal Singh and Merrill Nand were issued  yellow cards after committing strong fouls.

Iamo Manu scored for Gulf Komara and Filipe Baravilala relied for Suva in a tit for tat battle tied at 3–3.

Merrill Nand broke the deadlock and Suva won 4–3.
