POLICE have arrested three men in Sydney, with suspected links to a drug gang with Fiji links, and seized 40 kilograms of illicit drugs worth $USD8.07million.
The arrests followed extensive investigations into the KVT (Kai Viti or Fijian) Gang which has links to the Australian Lebanese underworld.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man, who was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with multiple offences, including knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group and supplying prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis.
He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court.
Early on Tuesday, a second 28-year-old was stopped by officers during a vehicle search on the Great Western Highway at Glenbrook. The driver was taken to Springwood Police Station, where he was charged with multiple offences, including supplying prohibited drugs, and participating in a criminal group.
At Peakhurst, a 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including two counts of supplying prohibited drugs greater than a large commercial quantity, dealing with proceeds of crime greater than $USD3229, and failure to comply with digital evidence access order directions.
He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court.
