DETECTIVES questioned SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka, in Suva today over comments he made on a talk back show last week. It is unclear what particular comments led to the police action.
A heated debate between Rabuka and Prime Minister Rear Admiral Frank Bainimarama on state-owned radio on Monday this week is believed to have triggered the latest police investigations.
Rabuka reportedly told Bainimarama that despite his criticisms about Rabuka’s handling of the National Bank of Fiji fiasco in the early 1990s, one of Bainimarama’s siblings also took a loan from the bank.
Sodelpa candidate Tanya Waqanika confirmed Rabuka’s appearance before police. Rabuka’s campaign has been disrupted by police and judicial action in recent months.
