President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Dr Hilda Heine is the first woman to head an independent Pacific Island state. Dr Heine’s journey into the Pacific’s history books was not easy. At home she is a trendsetter being the first Marshallese to graduate with a doctoral degree. She shared her life story with Islands Business journalist Mereseini Marau – Totoka.
