Paradise Beverages, producer of the award-winning RUM Co. of Fiji range, announces today that its RATU Dark Rum has been awarded a gold medal rating at the 2021 Meininger’s International Spirits Awards.

The Meininger’s International Spirits Awards is one of the most respected and influential spirits competitions in Germany and brings the total number of medals won by RUM Co. of Fiji brands, BATI and RATU, this year to 9 across various international competitions.

Heath Baker, Head of International Alcohol for RUM Co. of Fiji, said “Winning gold in this prestigious competition is the ultimate seal of approval in the European market and supports our passion and vision to make Fiji known as the new home of rum.”

Mike Spencer, General Manager, Paradise Beverages, echoed the pride in receiving this award as a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work and passion from the team in Fiji. “We’re thrilled to see RUM Co. of Fiji recognized at these major spirits industry awards in the past year. It’s testament to our heritage, craftsmanship and passion for our rum blends from the team in Fiji. We’re excited to see new consumers and trade continue to discover us and stay loyal to our brand,” said Mike.

RUM Co. of Fiji’s Ratu Dark Rum is aged for five years in charred oak barrels. It is a complex rum displaying savoury, smoked oak aromas with an earthy, leathery character, which gives way to the rich sweetness of molasses and the warmth of liquorice.
