PAPUA New Guinea Police Commissioner David Manning is seeking public assistance to locate four men wanted for questioning over the theft of gold bullion, cash and firearms in Port Moresby.
The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary has released photographs of Allan Wai, Steven Siskii, Lawrence Sausau and Hans Nane, identifying them as persons of interest in the investigations.
Police said 10 armed assailants held a private security crew at gunpoint in the early hours of 2 and stole the cargo in Port Moresby.
The stolen haul included 25 gold bars worth at least several million Australian dollars, and almost $AUD400,000 in cash, as well as firearms.
Members of the Police Commissioner’s staff have warned the public not to approach these men or their associates. They have been advised to call the police hotline on 122 or report it to the nearest police station.
