AFTER a scoreless first half, Auckland City continued to work their magic to win 2 – 0 against Central Coast in the grand finale of the OFC Men’s Champions League at the Four R Stadium in Ba.
Both teams were equally matched with their tight defensive strategies until Ryan De Vries broke the deadlock with a fantastic goal for Auckland City in the 69th minute.
Central Coast looked to Javin Wae and Raphael Leai to ignite their charge for a comeback.
But with less than eight minutes left on the clock, Matt Ellis slotted in another goal for Auckland City and sealed the win.
Auckland City is the most dominant team in the region. This is the 14th time they have won the OFC Men’s Champions League.
