Fiji’s Assistant Environment Minister has been forced to resign after investigations into a family company.
Lorna Eden’s resignation was announced in a statement by the office of Prime Minister, Rear-Admiral Frank Baimimarama yesterday.
The announcement came a day after the State-sanctioned Fiji Sun newspaper ran a front page article on Eden, her husband and a environmental damage caused by their family company in Savusavu.
Eden will remain as a Member of Parliament.
Her resignation comes at an opportune time for the ruling Fiji First ministers have been under the spotlight over their financial dealings
