Paul Scurrah

FIJI AIRWAYS has appointed Paul Scurrah as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2025.

The announcement was made by Nalin Patel, Chairman of the Fiji Airways Group, following an extensive internal, national, and international search process.

Scurrah brings over two decades of executive leadership across aviation, transport, logistics, and tourism. Most recently, he was CEO of Pacific National, Australia’s largest private rail freight company. He previously served as CEO of Virgin Australia and has held senior roles at Queensland Rail, DP World Australia, and was a founding executive at Rex Airlines.

Patel said the Board is confident that Scurrah’s experience, integrity, and strategic leadership will guide Fiji Airways through the evolving challenges of the global aviation industry while maintaining the airline’s commitment to excellence and financial strength.

The Board also expressed deep gratitude to outgoing CEO Andre Viljoen, who led the airline for the past decade and will remain on the Fiji Airways Board of Directors.

Under his leadership, Fiji Airways achieved record growth, doubling its fleet, expanding revenue from FJ$815 million to FJ$1.9 billion, and earning prestigious global awards including the APEX World Class Airline 2026 and a 4-Star SKYTRAX rating.

Fiji Airways now looks ahead to a new era under Scurrah’s leadership, focused on innovation, sustainability, and continued global recognition.
