Food science is an area that is in high 3rd-year student
demand and offers various career Bachelor of Science in Food Science
opportunities, says food science student Litia
Takuia who came to AUT as an international
student from Kiribati, supported by a Ministry of
Foreign Affairs and Trade NZ Scholarship.
“I chose to study food science because I want to learn how
we can improve the nutritional value and sensory attributes
of food, and make sure it’s safe and lasts longer.
“I’d like to encourage international students to apply to
AUT. It’s a modern university that can prepare anyone with
the kind of knowledge and skills they need to achieve in a
specific area.
“You won’t regret it as it’s one of the best universities,
