WHAT’S NEW
SPBD FIJI IN OVALAU
SPBD Fiji in Ovalau was honoured to
contribute to the solemn traditional
installation of Ratu Etonia Seru
Rokotuinaceva as the Nai Taukei
Nabukebuke Na Gone Turaga Bale Na Tui
Levuka.
The installation in May came 16 years
since the death of Ratu Etonia’s father,
Ratu Kolinio Rokotuinaceva, who was the
last Tui Levuka.
The ceremonial handover of the tabua and
I ula to Ratu Etonia, under the direction
of the Bete Ilaisa Tamani, symbolised the
beginning of this transfer of power.
The Native Land Commission
representatives at the installation
reaffirmed the Tui Levuka’s customary
responsibilities and duties to the people of
Ovalau.
SPBD Fiji provided a financial contribution
to Ratu Etonia Seru Rokotuinaceva. SPBD staff welcoming Ratu Etonia Seru Rokotuinaceva to the office.
