Earthquake in Labasa

AN earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter Scale has been recorded 155km West of Labasa.

Tremors were felt as far South as the capital, Suva, around 1.34pm today (Wednesday).

The United States Geological Survey reports the centre at a depth of 10km.

At this depth it us unlikely that ant major wave activity will be generated.

No tsunami alerts have been issued.
