Bainimarama relinquishes foreign affairs

Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama is no longer the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Fiji.

He has relinquished the Ministerial post as of 23rd January 2019.

In a legal notice, the Prime Minister has appointed Inia Seruiratu as Fiji’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Seruiratu is Fiji’s Minister for Defence and National Security and now has Foreign Affairs added to his portfolio.

Frank Bainimarama, in addition the Prime Ministership will also have Ministry of I-Taukei Affairs and Ministry of Sugar under his responsibility. He will also be responsible for the Immigration Department.

Frank Bainimarama took over the Foreign Affairs Ministry in September 2016 from then Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, who has since retired from politics and didn’t contest last year’s general elections.
