Fiji’s Meteorological Service says tropical cyclone Fili is expected to gradually weaken in strength today.

In its 7.23pm bulletin last night, the Service said the cyclone was moving southeast at about 14 knots per hour.

It will track south of New Caledonia on its current course.

New Caledonian authorities have placed one northern district on alert level two for cyclone preparedness, while five other northern districts are at alert level one.
